The First Time I Came Home...Was Through San Francisco

Disrespect and undermining our troops... Providing hope and comfort to our enemies... Refusing to be host city for the USS Iowa... Abolishment of the JROTC...And now, the latest slap in the face to our American Soldiers ("Some Things Never Change Or So It Seems")...   The City Council has voted to tell the Marines their downtown recruiting station is not welcome and "if recruiters choose to stay, they do so as uninvited and unwelcome guests."

The first time I came home was through San Francisco. People there had flowers in their hair.  But no one welcomed me to San Francisco. They looked at me as if they didn’t care.

Returning home from a drawn out war in Asia. Helping other people to be free.  We could have won that noble war in Asia. But some folks over here wouldn’t let it be.

Other troops came home through San Francisco.  Never got the thank you they deserved. Seems there is no heart in San Francisco.  And that Golden Gate’s not shiny anymore.

Yeah the first time I came home was through San Francisco. People there had flowers in their hair. But no one welcomed me to San Francisco. They looked at me as if they didn’t care.

Now that was long ago in San Francisco. But some things never change, or so it seems. So if you have to go through San Francisco… Remember, Those flowers in their hair don’t mean a thing.

To all of you who’ve ever fought for freedom. To those of you who’ve kept our people free. I’m thanking you on behalf of our Country. Cause San Francisco doesn’t speak for me.

San Francisco doesn’t speak for me.

SPECIAL NOTE TO ALL AMERICAN VETERANS.

If you know a fellow Veteran who has yet to be properly thanked please send them this website. Thanks for serving our Country!  RLB
